Combustion Behavior and Microstructure of TC17 Titanium Alloy under Oxygen-Enriched Atmosphere

TC17 titanium alloy is widely used in the aerospace industry, but its combustion behavior and microstructure after are rarely investigated. Herein, ignition critical oxygen pressure, velocity, of were investigated by promoted tests under an oxygen-enriched environment. The results indicated that there three stages, ignition, splash, flame propagation, for process alloy. As compared to TC11 alloy, exhibited a similar pressure with same size, obviously faster burning rate, which followed power law relationship pressure. segregation Cr, Mo, Al was observed interdendritic phase melting zone interface between heat-affected zone. Cr at liquid/solid can be responsible accelerating kinetic decreasing interfacial temperature.
